The Two Sheds Review - Carpe Diem 2009

Written by Two Sheds Review
It’s time to once again delve into the Frontier Wrestling Alliance Season One box set, and this time we’re taking a look at their second comeback show, and the continuation of their World Title Tournament at Carpe Diem 2009.The show began with the first of the quarter finals, a three-way encounter featuring Lionheart, Johnny Midnight and Martin Stone. Lionheart and Midnight had qualified for this match as joint runners-up of the pre-show Unsigned Rumble, while Stone, if you recall, beat TNA’s Doug Williams to get through. This was a very good way to start the show. Midnight and Lionheart put…

The Two Sheds Review, New Frontiers 2009

Written by Two Sheds Review
In its first incarnation it was responsible for some of the biggest British wrestling shows of the 21st century. It was home to the likes of Doug Williams, Paul Burchill, Hade Vansen and Katie Lea/Winter. Stars such as Steve Corino, Colt Cabana, A.J. Styles, Jerry Lynn, Christopher Daniels and C.M. Punk made flying visits. The company in question is the Frontier Wrestling Alliance, and they returned to action in August 2009 with the show we’re going to take a look at now, New Frontiers. Tag team action began the show as Northern Xposure, C.J. Banks and Joey Hayes, took on the Leaders…

FWA – Frontier Wrestling Alliance By Alex Kirkham

Written by Alex Kirkham
As a British wrestling fan, who craves to see high class matches from the sport he loves, you would think not having companies like WWE or TNA in the country that often would make a dent in my passion for the sport. But oh, how very wrong that is. We are privileged to have a company here in the UK that has tradition, history and a vast net of talent who week after week put on high class matches for all of the UK fans. I’m talking about FWA wrestling, the face of British Wrestling in my eyes. Many American…

The Dr. Talks About Dave Bradshaw's Statement

Written by The Dr.
Good evening FWA readers. I would like to think that if you are reading this you have inevitably already amused yourself with Dave's "shoot". The, not at all copycat, reveal of Dave's disillusionment with Alex Shane, and the seemingly bitter pill he has swallowed in his line of duty. If Dave Bradshaw is stepping away maybe it is because he is jumping, maybe he was being pushed. Maybe this is just a work to bring in a new face? However, I have written this response and will send it to the FWA to at least counter Dave's extremely narrow perspective.…

Statement By FWA Commentator Dave Bradshaw

Written by Dave Bradshaw
In the wake of CM Punk’s remarkable “worked shoot” promos in the past few weeks, there has been a tidal wave of commentary from so-called wrestling experts – some insightful, some frankly laughable. On one hand, recent events have shown me why I love this bizarre industry in which I’ve had the pleasure to work for the past three years. On the other, they have made me more certain than ever that I made the right decision when I decided that I’m leaving at the end of this month. Before I go any further, let me acknowledge a couple of things…
In the lead up to the Front Line special on the same subject, Greg Lambert explains how the rise of CM Punk compares to the battle for respect for British Wrestling led by the UK scene’s most controversial personality ‘The Ascension’ Alex Shane. Photography thanks to Tony Knox   “The problem is, I care too much.”CM Punk to Vince McMahon, Monday Night RAW, July 11 2011   CM Punk cares deeply about professional wrestling. That overwhelming devoted passion for his art has often been misunderstood, often caused him to be ostracised and ridiculed. But as I write this article –…
In hindsight, I suppose the events at New Frontiers shouldn't have come as much of a surprise.  In my last blog entry, just before we started Season 2 at the NEC, I talked about just how much of an uphill struggle I expect this coming year to be for the Resistance, which was shaken to its core by Alex Shane’s betrayal last November.  So I kind of knew what to expect going in, but somehow it was still a shock to see just how much the balance of power has shifted in favour of The Agenda, and just how easily…
