The historic open tournament to crown a first-ever FWA World Heavyweight Champion reached the quarter final stage at Broxbourne’s Civic Hall, as nine of the UK’s top wrestlers competed for a place in the final four. For some it was a first chance to make the wrestling world situp and take notice, for others it was an opportunity to keep alive a dream that had been been unfulfilled for years. For all, it was a chance to take a giant step towards being the inaugural holder of Europe’s most prestigious championship.

Incredible action, compelling drama and astonishing surprises made for an unforgettable night as the stars of the FWA did battle at Carpe Diem.
